Tue, 1 April 2008 I'm at "work" right now. I finished cleaning out my desk about an hour ago. I have no reason to be here. I could go home but I'd rather mooch off my employer's free internet for now. This is a meme I lifted from Adam of This Boy Elroy. 1.) What was I doing 10 years ago? Junior in high school. Very closeted and very overweight. I did the school play (that year it was The Skin of Our Teeth) and Forensics (my event was Improv- fortuitous?). Not a ton going on socially but I think I was well-liked by my classmates. I forced myself to go to formals and proms and all that shit even though I felt like a total liar, bringing girls to dances. I was pretty miserable in a lot of ways that I didn't realize until way after the fact. 2.) What are 5 things on my to-do list for today (not in any particular order) 2. drop off my belongings-from-office-crap at my apartment 3. eat healthy 4. read 5. get some sleep 3.) Snacks I enjoy candy, chips, cookies, anything that will give me a guilt complex 4.) Things I would do if I were a billionaire 1. pay for my parents to retire 2. take my entire family on a big trip 3. take improv AND writing classes at Second City 4. buy a guitar 5. clothes 6. charity 7 . help out family 8. get a nice place in Boystown 9. get a dog 10. laptop 5.) Three of my bad habits 6.) 5 places I have lived:\ 1. Livonia, MI 2. Richmond, IN 3. Chicago, IL: Rogers Park 4. Chicago, IL: Irving Park 5. Chicago, IL: Boystown 7.) 5 Jobs I have had:

Sun, 30 December 2007 First of all, I am not podfading. Repeat: I am not podfading. I swear as God as my witness that I will upload a new podcast this week. End of the year meme Major Events: my marathon experience, starting Second City, getting hired on full-time (with insurance), moving to Boystown. Biggest accomplishments: running the Detroit marathon. Biggest failure: not getting my career to where I want it to be. Biggest regret: being a bad friend/house guest/whatever it was that drove a friend to cut off all communication with me. Best memory: writing a scene for Second City that got a lot of good feedback. Worst memory: suffering through half of the Chicago Marathon before the organizers finally called the whole thing off. Most prideful moment: having the balls to sign up for marathon training even though I had a ton of people try to talk me out of it. Most embarassing moment: being a jerk in San Francisco. Number of people slept with: I'm saving myself for Jesus. Seriously, I am never going to answer this question. Started with a significant other: 0. Ended with a significant other: 0. Ending the year with more money, or less: probably more but I'm not really saving anything, which will change in 2008. Best Friend: McKenzie. Always and forever. Close runners-up include Aaron and Nick. Biggest Enemy: co-workers that give bad information to customers. Favorite TV Show: the Office, Battlestar Galactica, Dexter Favorite Movie: The Devil's Backbone Favorite Book: Middlesex Favorite Bands/Singers: Amy Winehouse, Mika, Lily Allen Concerts: I didn't go to a single concert all year. Nerd alert! Places Visited: 1: San Francisco. Best Trip: San Francisco. Worst Trip: San Francisco. Looking forward to in 2008: the Chicago Marathon, doing more with Second City, writing a manuscript of some sort. Dreading in 2008: the Chicago Marathon, my impending career impasse. Update: my computer's still crashed. But if it weren't, here's a list of the personal issues I would address on my latest podcast: 1. I hate my horse-faced, annoying New Zealand roommate. She's having a guest visit this week. She left me this ridiculous note about it and I won't get into specifics until I'm podcasting again. I want to move to Boystown and live by myself. As the weather changes, so too will my living arrangements (hopefully). 2. I still don't know what to do with my life. This makes me nervous because my 26th birthday is coming up soon. 3. I've started working out again. 4. It was really crowded on the el to work. Then some Coach-eyeglass-wearing asshole had to squeeze in and force me to get close to some homeless guy that smelled Ungodly. 5. I've become a robot on a couple different levels when I'm at work. Thu, 21 December 2006 Believe it or not, I got this survey from Ragan Fox. End of the year meme Major Events: going through three temp jobs in a year, long periods of unemployment, weight gain, my sister's marriage, getting assaulted, starting my podcast, becoming a Buddhist Biggest accomplishments: Getting through the past seven months. Biggest failure: Not having the balls to go after what I want. Biggest regret: Taking a shortcut through a poorly-lit residential area by myself at 2 a.m. Best memory: Marching in Pride. Worst memory: Calling McKenzie the morning after I was assaulted. Most prideful moment: My 2-second performance in Flags of Our Fathers. Most embarassing moment: The first two months of my podcast. Number of people slept with: I am a gentleman. Started with a significant other: started what? Ended with a significant other: what? Ending the year with more money, or less: I never had money this year. Best Friend: McKenzie. Biggest Enemy: I didn't get their names. Favorite TV Show: Veronica Mars, Heroes Favorite Movie: Flags of Our Fathers because I was in it. Holla. Favorite Book: What Color Is Your Parachute? Reading this book is going to lead to bigger and better things in 2007. Favorite Bands/Singers: Annie, The Avalanches, Basement Jaxx, Spoon, Kelly Clarkson, Shapeshifters, Feist Concerts: I barely went to any this year. Places Visited: I didn't really go anywhere this year. Best Trip: See above. Worst Trip: the trip to Stroger for surgery. Looking forward to in 2007: Reaching my goal weight, moving into an apartment (by myself) in Boystown, continuing my spiritual journey, dating, getting published, bringing my podcast to the next level, finding and pursuing my calling. Dreading in 2007: Constantly having to push myself to do better. The possibility of failure. Turning 26. Category: blog -- posted at: 1:10 AM Comments[3] |

Sun, 13 August 2006 Today I went to Best Buy to get a new mic and the punkass kid locked the door right when I got there. I was literally a minute too late. I'm going to go back tomorrow and start putting out podcasts again. Sorry for being a bad podcaster. But lots of stuff has been going down lately and it's all going to be on the podcast. In other news: I'm going to go back to being Madge's bitch starting tomorrow. About two months ago I had to stop doing the show notes after those street thugs broke my fingers. I'm happy to be writing that fat dyke's show notes again because it means a return to normalcy in my life. Category: blog -- posted at: 11:06 PM Comments[11] |
Tue, 13 June 2006 I just registered this and I'm re re and I don't know what I'm doing. So I'm just kind of playing around. The podcasts I'm uploading need to be edited, so I'll probably take them down again and fix them. I don't know. It's 1 am and I'm tired. What do you want from me?
